Obviously the best part about getting married for a girl is the dress!
I was so excited about this part that I booked an appointment really early with Rebecca Hatton Designer Bridalwear in Southport.
Rebecca has some amazing dresses and she is lovely and really makes you feel special in your dress as well as being honest if it doesn’t suit.
My main piece of advice is try lots of different styles on because you always end up loving the one you thought you would never pick.
My sister-in-law wore a really figure hugging dress from Rebecca Hatton and she looked stunning. I thought ‘yes maybe something like that for me’- that is until I realised my sister-in-law is a lot smaller than me and I couldn't get it over my head, let alone anywhere else!!
I have tried different styles on since. For a boy this means big or small but there are lots of different ones - princess, mermaid, sweetheart, strapless etc etc the list goes on.
I have found one that brought a tear to my eye but I can't tell you what it's like yet as people may be eaves-dropping!!
It was in London and my bridesmaids and I spent ages trying different ones on and it wasn’t until the very last dress that I felt great and realised if it made me cry it must be something special.
I am dragging my mum, nan and sister-in-law down to London in a few weekends to get their verdict.
Other things are coming together. I have an amazing caterer - Carringtons Caterers. They are so thorough and make sure every detail is taken into account.
Find out next week more details about how other plans are going along with bridesmaid ideas.
